Best Age for Starting Piano

Many people believe that there is an ideal age to start piano lessons, but the truth is that it varies depending on the individual. Some children are able to sit still and focus for long periods of time at a young age, while others need more time to develop their attention span. In general, however, most experts agree that starting piano lessons between the ages of five and seven is ideal. At this age, children are old enough to understand basic concepts but still young enough to be easily moldable. They are also likely to have the motor skills necessary to play the instrument. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule, and there are many successful musicians who started piano lessons at a later age. Ultimately, the best age to start piano lessons is the age at which the child is ready and willing to learn.
